privacy

your data stays on your device
99daysof is designed to be private by default. Your intentions, entries, and notes are encrypted on your device using AES-256 encryption and never leave it. We have no servers that store your personal data, no accounts, and no way to access your information.
encryption
All data is encrypted with a key derived from your passphrase before being saved to your device's local storage. Without your passphrase, the data cannot be read — not by us, not by anyone.
anonymous usage counting
When you unlock the app, we send a single anonymous ping to Plausible Analytics — a privacy-focused analytics tool. This lets us see how many people open the app each day. No cookies are used. No personal data is transmitted. Your IP address is never stored; Plausible discards it after computing an anonymous daily hash. We receive only an aggregate count, not anything tied to you or your habits.
what we don't collect
We do not collect your name, email, location, or any personally identifiable information. We do not track your habits, entries, or usage patterns. We do not sell data to third parties.
backups
If you use the export feature, an encrypted backup file is saved to your device. This file is protected by your passphrase. We have no access to it.
